Firefly Trail Ride, Ticket to Ride

Join the fun as cyclists ride the roads closest to the route of the proposed rail trail from Athens to Union Point with out-and-back options of up to 80 miles.

The inaugural bike ride is to build support and awareness of the Firefly Trail. Come explore the route of the proposed rail-to-trail project along roads through the scenic countryside and usually within a few yards of the historic Georgia Railroad corridor where the trail will be installed.

This out-and-back ride provides options up to 80 miles with SAG stops in Arnoldsville, Maxeys and Union Point.  In Union Point, the town is welcoming riders with a SAG stop, sneak peak of renovations to the historic Union Point Theater, and free parking if you want to have someone meet you there for a one-way ride.

Free and fully supported ride with SAG stations and refreshments at the depot and whistle stops. Many distances available including all the towns along the route.  All donations benefit Firefly Trail.
